A LOVE Supreme!

1 John 3:1
See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.
Romans 8:38-39
For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
Thought for Today
The great jazz saxophonist, John Coltrane, arranged, composed, and released an album in 1965 entitled, “A Love Supreme.” When released, it received overwhelming acclaim from music critics, musicians, and music lovers around the world. Listening to the compositions, it is clear that Mr. Coltrane was divinely inspired as he and fellow musicians express with musical excellence an essence of the highest form of love that is beyond human comprehension or description in words. John, the Apostle, captures the essence of the great love that God has for us in 1 John 3:1. He challenges the reader to see or behold (observe carefully) the great love that God the Father has lavished (bestowed) upon us, in such great measure that He claims us as His own children. His great love for us is limitless, unending, full of grace and mercy, yet just and righteous. The Greeks referred to God’s great love for people as agape’ (incomparable, sacrificial, and unconditional love). Yes, in spite of our many sins, infirmities, character flaws, and failures, God loves us so much that He gave His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, so that anyone who believes in Him shall not perish but shall have everlasting life. Know that nothing and no one can separate you from God’s love which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Now that, my friends, is a Love Supreme!

Dear Lord, I thank you for your unfailing and unconditional love that you cover me with each day. You gave Your only begotten Son, Jesus to give His life to save me from my sins and give me everlasting life. Jesus, you are a Love Supreme and my faith is in you alone. I love you with all my heart. Amen!
